Brathay Hall - further information

BEDROOMS: There are a variety of en-suite bedrooms, in 4 different areas of the Hall and nearby grounds, so you can choose to fit your taste and your pocket!

  • Superior Twins / Doubles in ‘Scafell’
  • Standard Twins / Doubles in ‘Wansfell’
  • Standard Twins / Doubles (some with lake view) in ‘Helvellyn’
  • Singles in ‘Loughrigg’

ACCESSIBILITY: All the main rooms that we shall be using are accessible to disabled people. The theatre, where we shall be singing, is 3-4 minutes’ walk from the main hall. Please note, there is no accessible toilet near the theatre.

The bedrooms vary in their accessibility:

Scafell: These rooms are in a separate building, next to the main house and further away from the theatre. 2 double / twin bedrooms have been adapted for use by disabled people, with wet rooms and shower chairs available. 4 further bedrooms are on the ground floor and 6 are on the first floor with no lift.

Wansfell: These rooms are in a separate building, just behind the main hall. There are a few small steps up to the building.

Helvellyn: These are on the second floor of the main house, with no lift.

Loughrigg: These rooms are a little further away from the main hall, in a wooded area. To walk from the main hall, you need to go up a flight of steps with a handrail that doesn’t reach the bottom steps. You can drive up the hill to the rooms and there is just one step into each room from the car park.

Full details of the rooms can be found on Brathay Hall’s website https://www.brathay.org.uk/staycations/

STAYING EXTRA NIGHTS: If you want to stay extra nights, before or after the event, first: book for the event on the Singing for Larks website, then let Faith know which extra nights you’d like to stay and she will let you know the cost and reserve them for you. Pay Brathay Hall for the extra nights during your stay.
