This arrangement has the melody, supported by 4 harmonies, though it also works with just 3. All of the parts are fairly straightforward for much of the song but, as is so often the case, the contrasting middle section offers a greater challenge, with changes of key, so I’ve categorised this arrangement as having Some Challenges.
The song as we know it now, was adapted from 2 earlier film songs by Rodgers and Hart. In the end, a change of lyrics and some successful marketing led to Blue Moon becoming a number one hit and a million seller in sheet music sales. It has since been sung and recorded by many artists and even more Manchester City football fans!
