A day of singing… for the pure joy of it! Expect an exciting mix of songs: some short and quick to learn, others more complex; some sung in English and others in different languages; there may be some international folk, gospel, jazz, soul, barbershop… whatever we sing, the aim is to have a right good sing!
TIMETABLE: The workshop will start promptly at 10.30 am – you’re welcome to arrive anytime after 10.00 am. To help keep our energy up during the day, there will be a refreshments break in the morning, a break for lunch around 1.00 pm and probably a short break in the afternoon. We’ll finish at 4.00 pm.
REFRESHMENTS: Hot drinks, biscuits and fruit will be available, free of charge, at the beginning of the day and during all the breaks. Tap water will be available throughout the day. You’re invited to bring a small amount of food to share for lunch, creating an instant feast between us. However, if you prefer to cater for yourself separately, that’s fine.
VENUE: This modern village hall offers excellent facilities for all kinds of community activities. We shall be singing in the light, airy main hall and we’ll use the smaller meeting room, with kitchen attached, for all our refreshments. Make sure you don’t have to hurry off afterwards, as a post-sing wander along the River Wharfe and around the stunning ruins of the Priory would be the ideal end to the day!
LOCATION: Bolton Abbey Village Hall is just off the B6160, 5 minutes from the A59, between Skipton (7 miles) and Harrogate (17 miles).
